Research ethics

Human ethics
Experiments on humans must be conducted following relevant guidelines for research on humans. The authors must declare it in the manuscript at an appropriate place with a clear statement. When reporting experiments on human subjects, authors should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national) and with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 2008, which is available at: http://www.healthscience.net/resources/declaration-of-helsinki/. If the worldwide ethical standards were not followed, the authors must declare it in the methods with an appropriate statement that was approved by their local ethics committee. The authors are encouraged to mention the reference number of ethical committee approval document. If ethical approval was not obtained, the reasons thereof must be clearly stated in the manuscript with a statement that the study was exempted from ethical committee approval because of the mentioned reasons.

Animal ethics
When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether the institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals were followed. The materials and methods (experimental procedures) section must clearly indicate that appropriate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort, and details of animal care should be provided. The authors are encouraged to mention the reference number of ethical committee approval document. If ethical approval was not obtained, the reasons thereof must be clearly stated in the manuscript with a statement that the study was exempted from ethical committee approval because of the mentioned reasons.
